How It's Going So Far
So for those of you that don't know... My weight was getting up there and I needed to lose it, not just to be healthy for my son (which was a big factor) but also to maybe finally start being happy with myself. So 16 weeks ago today I started a new diet at a local place called Medithin Weight Loss Clinic.
Now I'd tried other diets in the past from just cutting out soda or chocolate, to the extreme Medifast shakes (which i lost a lot of weight on, but ended up needing to have my gallbladder taken out because it was full of stones and i immediately gained all the weight back plus some). But i figured why not, Medithin didn't seem to hard and it seemed to be working very well for a lot of people i know, so i gave it a try.
16 weeks later i'm down 78 LBS!!! And I'm so happy. I'm only about halfway to where i want to be but 78 lbs is a lot, and i still haven't started excercising (i'm really naughty, i know! but maybe when i start to plataeu i will start and it will get me over that bump) Also I'm down two pants sizes as of today!
Even if your not from anywhere near me you can still try the diet out, although it's not just a diet, it's a lifestyle change. It's low carb, low fat. I'm limited to about 1000 Calories a day and can't go lower than 600 (although i'll admit i have tons of trouble getting even close to the 600 calories so i have to force myself to eat more, i'm just not hungry on the diet at all) Also 35g of fat and 25g of Carbs. If you go over in Calories or Fat it won't ruin the diet but you have to stay under the 25g of carbs to stay in Ketosis (fat burning mode).
I went in to this diet with a major carb addiction and i'm now only eating about 5-6 carbs a day.... good thing i LOVE Chicken!!
I'm going to be trying out some new recipies and hopefully posting them here along with some pictures for anyone that is interested in trying it out.
The other thing this diet has is ammino acids to help curb hunger (which i believe you can buy OTC) and B12 shots, which you can buy and give yourself or you can order a sublingual version. I personally get mine every week at the clinic but if you don't have that option then check your local pharmacy or online. Just make sure they are a good business online if you go that route.
Quick Note to Everyone
Ok so i've never blogged before so you will have to bare with me when/if this turns out really bad. So Here Goes....
